Thanks. Had one occurrence of "Low Battery Start Engine" yesterday so fitted new battery.   However, "Check Stop & Start" message still appears.  Do I need to reset anything or drive the car for a number of miles?  Any ideas?

Well, now that is strange. There should be some fault, but first, try to ride a little, so the new battery loads a bit. 
1.6 dCI, 2WD, Zen+ , Retractable Tow Bar.

No, it is not. If he put in car a stronger batt., than he must adjust ECU parametters. Alternator must to know how mutch current is enough to send to batt.
