The car in question is a Dynamic nav on a 65 plate. It has rear parking sensors at least, that aren’t working. Apparently someone was messing around with the computer and display system, looking for options for something else and since then the parking sensors don’t work. On the main display, under ‘vehicle’ and then ‘assistance systems’ there is no option for parking sensors. Only lane departure and something else. I am stumped.

Maybe someone was adding a trailer and disabled them permanently with ddt4all.

On the dynamique nav the sensors were an option , on the nav S there were standard.

if it’s only got rear they may be aftermarket or genuine aftermarket renault sensors, the May look different compared to factory fitted and won’t display on the Rlink2 screen.

if it’s a renault accessory then there should be a switch to turn them on and off, the advised position is by the parking brake switch on the centre console but could be anywhere.
This turns the audible warning on and off but no display.

Thanks for the replies.

The car is my father-in-laws and I did question whether it actually came with sensors. It certainly looks like it has them, and I’d say they’re factory ones. I had a quick feel behind the bumper and there were wires so I think they aren’t ‘dummy’ ones. I need to check the front of the car.

if they were disabled it was accidentally.

A couple of things here, as you’ve said does it have front sensors?
Post a photo of the sensors here on the rear.
Has it had or does it have a towbar.

if it has factory fitted are they turned off in the Rlink2

I have recently seen an 18 plate model with aftermarket front and rear sensors. The front were turned off and on via a switch near the USB ports centre console, and the rear had a switch in the left hand corner rear near the boot cover roll. Each set had their own audio output. Not sure it it was the Renault sets. But they were mounted correctly. It seemed that the power supply was taken from the rear left corner harness, and wiring was routed down through the body on the rear left corner for the sensors. This may or may not help. But I hope it does. It could be as simple as as switch turned off on an aftermarket set. Or a broken cable.
