Hi all,

Since getting the Kadjar in April I've used the auto headlights all the time and they've been great.

The past few days though they seem to be on all of the time now, I'm having to manually turn the lights off. Driving to work in direct sunshine on the front of the car and they don't turn off as I would expect them to. 

Anyone come across similar or does it need to go to the dealer?

Mine does that in the morning, I swear it is on some sort of time clock some times. Lights did not go off until nearly about 08.50 when I was driving to Bristol last Friday!

I queried it with the dealer when it went in for a service a couple of months ago and all I got as feed back is Could not replicate fault. Next time it will be on camera I think!

I have switched them off and then back to auto after about 10 seconds when i think it is bright enough which it seems to accept.

Mine is going further than that, I can turn it off for 10+ minutes, then flick back to auto in the bright sunshine and they turn back on.

Sounds like it might be a visit to the dealer then.

Stating the obvious, the sensor on the windscreen is clean?

I've cleaned the windscreen around the block behind the rear view mirror, I assume the sensor is located in there? If not does anyone know where it's located?

Yep, I think it's "an undocumented feature" of Renault software.  I had it on the Captur, and the general conclusion from that forum was it's to do with the high contrast of shadow and bright sun at certain times of the year.  I drove back from the station yesterday and the headlights stayed on outside the multi-storey car park with very bright (but low) sun at about 1700...
