As you will see from another thread, I'm "thinking" (quite hard) about caravanning, so thought I'd find out how much it would cost to get a tow bar fitted, so I contacted GT Towing in Hatfield, who I've used in the distant past... Price? SEVEN HUNDRED and SEVENTY quid!  So I thought I'd try my local dealer (Glyn Hopkin)... ONE THOUSAND AND FIFTY ONE POUNDS!!!!

Anyone got any pointers of a place that's not going to be more than 5% of the value of an 11 month old car?

Mine costed approximately 1100 pound in my home country Bulgaria with the discount. Initially was supposed to be about 465 pounds, but the dealer had mistaken the models. And it was not foldable. So I agreed on the more expensive one, but I'm very happy with, cause it's really cool in retracting. You can't even suppose there is a tow bar until it's unfolded (with a single pull). I need mine only for the bike stand. So, my point is, it's even cheaper in Britain...
(I'm a keen biker and ordered mine even before the car arrived and it have traveled more than 20K miles with the bikes on it for the year I've got the car)

Yes? And wireing loom? Fitting cost?
I paid for mine 753€ (with discount in form of no 22% VAT) and fitting cost was a gift from dealer. Since mine is early 2016 and first ordered with retractable towbar, it too, them one and a half man-day of labour.

Fitted mine myself bought a retractable genuine Renault unit from Glyn Hopkins all in it cost £595 would have gone to a dealer for £680 if I had known....

The wiring harness is about £85, so that's £770  for the parts, so that's £300 ( round numbers) for the labour...
