The USB is formatted by the car, is 16gb and FAT32 format. The car creates the lost directory and Rlink folders so I know it's read it.

The Toolbox has been added to Windows firewall allow list and isn't being blocked but for some reason doesn't want to connect to the internet (says "no  internet connection. Please check the configuration in the Settings tab") and also says "please insert a USB flash drive in your computer. Check synchronisation with your R-LINK 2")

The R-Link services had not been activated by the dealer so I did that last night, and am awaiting the confirmation over the next 72 hours. Will this affect the process?

And you registered your car in "My Garage" in the R- link store?

Result! I used an old desktop with windows 7 on it and the usb is recognised. My Lenovo running win 10 just doesn't seem to like the connection.

I'm using WIN10 with no problem, so I guess there there is a setting issue on your computer.
