Had a message in the car this morning to say my discovery service is switched on and what do you know, weather app is now working.
Yet to remind myself as to how to set up the email service to see if that now works.

Also received an email as well to say my services should now be up and running after a small maintenance was done, if small what took so long!

Have check my Email Service and yes it is working both SSL and non SSL.

I have looked at my Rlink account and it is showing the Discovery Service has been activated but expires in 89 days, so I guess it was activated for 90 days originally.
I have sent an Email back to Customer Services to query the limited time for the Discovery Service and what happens when it expires.

Whilst it is suggested that the Weather App and Email Service is free, technically I feel you have to subscribe to a Data Service, be it Traffic Update or some other Service that uses a Data transfer, in order to use the Email and Weather Apps.

Quite frankly, it is a shame you can't use your own Sim Card as it would probably be cheaper would it not?

I have received a response from Customer Services about my query relating to the 90 days Subscription to the Discovery Service and what happens to my Email and Weather Services as follows:

Thank you for your reply.

And please do not worry, as I have been mentioning the Discovery
Services are not relevant to your Live Services. They have been just
activated in this instance as a temporary fix.

The whole issue seems to be known by our Technical Experts, and, as I
understood things, the fix that will solve it once and for all is meant
to be deployed over the next few weeks.

I was assured that, before the expiration of your Discovery Services,
your connectivity will already be completely fixed, and as such when the
Discovery Services do expire, your R.Link 2 should simply follow
regular functioning.
