Mine is in for some warranty work on the heater so they are going to have another look at the temperature gauge issue. All will be revealed tomorrow when I collect the car!

My local Renault Dealer performed multiple checks on the cooling system and was adamant that everything was as it should be!!
Replacing the "Instrument Cluster" and re-programming sorted the erratic gauge problem AND sorted an intermittent "Start/Stop" funtion!

Well the car is back after the warranty work and the clutch judder is still there and they are telling me there is nothing wrong with the temperature gauge and that diesels run cooler and take longer to warm up! Rubbish! And would you believe it, the engine Stop/Start is not working either! So, like you, maybe a new instrument cluster is needed? Back to the dealer!

Just like what I was told by the local Renault Dealer in Dumbarton .- a load of cow pats!
I contacted Renault Customer Services who told the Dealer to raise a "CIR" or "CRI" (I'm not sure which)
The "Case Number" with Customer Services was "4-08084489" and the "Agent was "Riz".
You should perhaps mention this to Customer Services.
Best of luck you will probably need it if the hassle I had with the Dealer is anything to go by.!

After Dealer (reluctantly and only following directive from Renault Customer Service - "CRI" raised) replaced my instrument cluster last week , my temperature gauge goes from "cold" to 2 "blocks" after approximately 2.5 miles (ambient temperature approx 6 DegC) then after approx 5 miles it jumps straight to 4 "blocks" and STAYS their until end of journey!!!

As I have previously stated Dealer did many checks on coolant temperatue and associated devices and Service Manager was adamant that I had "NO PROBLEM" -cow pats

Thanks for that Mike, I'll feed that through to my dealer (who is still telling me there is nothing wrong with it!).
