I have successfully installed new maps on version 2.2.19.300.
If I were to upgrade Rlink to V7 now, what would happen to navigation and maps?

If you use official upgrade maps from Renault site - nothing (but this maps are at least 1 year old)
If you patch iGo partition and install maps from torrents - installed maps will became useless until you hack iGo partition again for correct version of patch for V7.

That’s why there is no particular good reason to have upgrade to V7... nothing much to achieve comparing 3.3.16.98x

Added ambient illumination, few chrome trims,

I am in a similair situation. Have 2.2.19.300 installed and was just planning to do the following 1. Install new (hacked) maps 2. Upgrade to 3.xx in order to get Android Auto.
As I understand your answer, the best way to do this is the other way around? First upgrade to 3.xx and then install maps.

What approach would be best for me to upgrade my Rlink now?
Is there a way to go back to Renault maps after patching IGO partition?
My Renault support is over, so I can't download Renault maps for my car.
Or just to do the upgrade and after that patch iGO partition again?
If I do this, will my maps still remain on system, so after patching they will be enabled?
Or I will have to install them from the start?
Is there are way to install Renault maps from the start after upgrading rlink?
My friend just upgraded rlink to V7 by Renault dealer and after that he upgraded to V8 and then to V9 by himself.
On V9 he patched iGO partition and installed new maps.
I want to do exactly the same, but my starting position is not the same, so I'm not sure wthat are my options now.

Yes Karl, otherwise you will have to patch iGo twice.

Hello

I have somewhere undo files for 2.2, 3.3.16.96x, 98x and 7.x. For 8 and 9 I have only patch files and not for all versions... So if version mismatch, iGo reports error.
Regarding upgrade to V7 at dealership... some dealerships refuse to upgrade due to reason that a lot of devices became unusable during flash process and Renault had to repalce them on its expence...
As I know when they upgrade to V 7 you will have to download all apps and maps byyourself...
So if Renault will upgrade your device to V7 then you can do it to V8 and V9 alone and then patch. If versions match then you will have maps unlocked...
