Hullo, so this is intended to follow on from my introduction to the group which in the end descended into a discussion about the R-link store in the car being greyed out. I spoke again this evening to a helpline person (Friday 5 o'clock - hometime imminent :rolleyes: ) whom decided to advise the following via email. -

Please follow these steps in order to do that:

1. Main Menu > Apps > Privacy (Icon with a padlock)
2. On “Data Sharing”, select "OFF" and then "ON" ;
3. Turn off the engine and the device, leave the car and lock it.
4. Wait 10 minutes
5. Go back to the vehicle and start the engine. Wait for the R-Link 2 to boot up
6. Click on the connectivity icon (white car on the top left side of the screen)
If there is connectivity it will say "In-car connection"
If there is no connectivity it will say "None"

I kindly ask you to confirm if your issue has been resolved. Should the situation persist or if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by replying to this e-mail or calling me on the number below. I will be happy to assist you.

I went through the motions and followed the above so that i could report back what I expected with the utmost certainty ...no change!

So, last night for the first time the R-link store was 'not' greyed out! the renault boffins must've been tinkering with their very long screwdrivers :)
I pressed that app store but was greeted with "do you agree to data sharing, blah blah blah ... 'yes'.
next...the r-link store needs an update :dry: this app will close. it didnt so i hit the update button displayed.
back to the home page..I tried the rlink store again - the rlink store requires an update... this app will close it didn't, i hit the update button.. back to the home page
hit the rlink store button i continued like this 3 or 4 times before i gave in.


this morning I tried it again ......SUCCESS!! i now have the r-link store integrated into my car and have successfully downloaded and installed the weather app.... result! its the small things, thanks renault

The Rlink icon on my system is also greyed out. When I rang Renault about this the customer service lady told me it would be enabled only if you would have something like Tom Tom live traffic activated. I can't remember exactly but she said it's something to do with the system then staying connected to the rlink service that enables the icon and store to be accessible directly in the car.

Yes Wlodar, I got told that to, I purchased. Tom Tom Connectivity but it still didn't ungrey it. Hence I required renault to have a look

Oh ok. I wasn't aware that you had Tom Tom live traffic. I may get it one day so will see whether it will acivate the rlink icon on my system.
