just found out that i have the same problem on my 17 plate and handsfree card... when i unlock the car from remote or with button, then yes, the DRLs and side lamp light up, but they wont by detecting the card, even the function is on in my R Link and guy from renault web chat confirmed that i have that function... weird... spoke to local Renault dealer he told me £120 for diag... eh ...

You will be chucking your money away, the phase 1 was never equipped with walk up lighting.  The guy on the web chat is reading from an on line manual and it’s his interpretation of a ‘common’ handbook for the rlink2.  There is a menu feature on the phase 1 welcome lights but it relates to unlocking.

The only way to get walk up lighting working is through ddt4all or Clip if you have one.
