I have a 2016 Kadjar with keycard. Inside the card is a key to unlock car if card fails. I cannot get the key to work. The manual states that it should be used on the front left-hand door. However, there is no key lock to insert it. There is a key lock on the front right-hand side but although the key fits and turns the lock, it does not lock/unlock the car. Any ideas?

Key should unlock only this particular door (mostly drivers door) not central unlock for doors and is even not intend for regular usage.

Is it cold? Maybe the mechanism is stuck or broken depending on its working principle.

No, it's not cold. Lock turns ok but nothing happens. Perhaps somebody can confirm that their emergency key works ok in their drivers door?

I had this with mine, disconnected the battery and locked the car before I went to China for 3 months. Came back, key would turn the lock but wouldn’t unlock. In the end I got a pair of pliers just to put a bit of pressure on while turning which did the trick.
