Hi all,

On drive back from work STOP engine warning light appeared, along with Engine Fault text which was replaced a few seconds later with Check Stop and Start. The Stop and Start button is now red.

Looking for any advice/help

TIA

How old is the car and is it still under warranty?

Can be down to a couple of different issues, but likley candidate is a bad battery (voltage not enough to maintain stop/start); if the battery is good potentially an alternator problem. If neither of these, potentially a cam position sensor fault or a blown fuse.
Easiest solution is to get a free battery check to rule that out and start from there.

Thanks for that. Have it booked in for a battery health check, likely to be the battery as have had battery low warning the past few months.

Cheers

I too have this problem, even after replacing the battery.  It occurred shortly after a major service, including timing belt change.  Cam position sensor  and fuse were mentioned. Where can I find these?
Thanks
