I have been renting Renaults for years. I currently am renting a 2022 Captur. When I approach the vehicle it automatically unlocks the doors, and when I leave the vehicle it automatically locks the doors.

I just purchased a 2015 Kadjar. It does not do this, even though the owner's manual describes it. I went into User Settings and the hands-free locking is is turned "On".

Will the 2015 Kadjar do as the 2022 Captur does, or do I have to use the buttons on the exterior door handles to lock and unlock the vehicle without using the key?

When you're next to the door it recognises your key, you then press the small button on the handle which unlocks it. Your wing will auto open. Now you can open your door.

2015 Kadjar doesn’t have hands free locking or locking, either use the keycard to lock and unlock, or the button on the doors or tail gate.
it also doesn’t have auto folding mirrors, there’s a button on the drivers door to fold and unfold them, depending on if it has electric folding mirrors.

With certain modificaction in system (DDT4ALL) you can enable walk-away locking as  it has models after Nov. 2016. But:
- no wing mirrors folding on lock
- no beep sound on locking, only blinker lights signalization.

Succesfuly did on my 2015 model.

I am interested in how you modified your system to allow walk-away locking. The folding in of the mirrors is not critical to me.

Also I see you upgraded your R-Link to v. 9 to get CarPlay. I was told that you have to replace the whole unit on the 2015 to allow for CarPlay. I want to upgrade my R-Link to a newer version, but am not interested in spending a fortune. Any suggestions?

For walk away locking need to modificate some values in main computer with ddt4all.a
My R-Link2 device was replaced due to upgrade failure in authorized garage (and was under warranty). Need also to replace front USB module in dashboard; got used one from Poland.

You can upgrade yourself to 3.3.16.981, on 7.x need to visit authorized garage.
