I'm due to pick up a 66 plate signature s Nav on Saturday. Are dealers able to update R link in order to activate android auto or are the unofficial ways described online the only way of getting it?

If the car is on V2 already, the only way currently to V3 so you can get Android Auto is the unofficial way.

Thanks. So presumably most cars are on V2. Has there been anything from Renault on releasing V3 officially? Seems bizarre not to release if the unit can handle it

There's an official update from V2 to V7, but so far, many RLinks are bricked after the update. The ones which succeeded, have to unlock AA through Developer Mode.

From what I understand here, Renault will not commit to an official upgrade because they will not be able to offer Car Play for the car, which only OFFICIAL V3 and I believe V7 can offer. The issue with mine, and possibly yours, is the Hardware can't drive the Car Play hence no official release specific for the Kadjar.

The unofficial release is actually the offical version for the Megane hence there is a DEBUG process at the end of the update to realign the reversing camera, if fitted.

If you were able to get a car manufactured after, I think March 17, you have more chance of getting an official version.
