in post #1 you went into a lengthy journey description of a mixture of motorway and A roads,

so if this was included in 1k your avg is going to be higher than ours. i re set my comp at every fill up so as to get some idea of the avg per tank. yours is your avg of 1k miles

As well as that, you cant just state we have lead foot because the circumstances are completely different. I know in the summer I get an avg per tank of 42mpg, this is far better than the S-max that avg 32mpg but it was more powerful and a bigger car, it is way better than the 3008 with that stupid gearbox that avg 26mpg out of a diesel, have to qualify that with it was well into the high 60s on a run, ford explorer 15mpg but it was converted to lpg so it was 30mpg equivalent, Audi A6 2.4 turbo D cvt gearbox avg 30mpg . All these were done in the same area so i think this gives a good avg for me. I am not a lead foot, you cant be in a town environment, in fact my smooth driving style has been commented on many times. I am not complaining, this is the best MPG figures i have had in a long time and is close to honest Johns web site  but i would expect it being a modern diesel.

the next car will be petrol or hybrid the press on diesel, the possibility of congestion charging or banning them leeds me to my next choice. I don't expect the same MPG to behones its not even to worry about it as its all socal driving now. i am looking to fill up soon on the Kadjar this is the first time since March, i always fill the car then i don't have to think about it .

i hope members will relise the MPG is unique to you, and take no notice of what people say.

That journey was independant to the 1k figure, it was the 1st decent journey covered this year to be honest. It was also exceptionally good, which is why I posted this, I don't believe anyone could beat that under any conditions and meant as a real comparison tto Renaults claimed figures. I've never  achieved near that before and I put it down to not exceeding 63 mph and conditions being dead calm, wind or air resistance is the achilles heel with a Kadjar shaped car.

Don't take umbrage at the lead foot comment, humour doesn't always work in print.

However, under those conditions the 1.6 engine would likely have equalled or bettered the 1.5 going by the greater use and checks I did in the QQ.

That figure of mpg over a thousand miles started out at worst 48mpg in colder weather and gradually increased to over 53 before I reset it for a single long journey check.

Hi Chaps, new to the forum.  I've averaged 48/49 mpg for the 12,000 miles I've done in my 1.5 dCi EDC.  I've got a pretty heavy right foot when the roads open but generally I do a mix of in town (fairly central London) and A road driving.

I've just done my first motorway trip in mine and came back as 73.3, I'm happy with that, only had the car four days and town driving was around 49 mpg, mine is auto by the way !!
