I looking at replacing a non Car play head unit with a reclaimed unit.
I suspect there maybe code issues with the replacement units that may negate this?

Are there any other connection issues that would also be a problem.
I have changed the USB ports to the higher spec ones and been through the dev menu to successfully enable android auto.
However it is CarPlay that I want.

Is it a case of swapping head units to the newer type?

Which version of Firmware do you have and what year and model is the car?

It is the 2016 edition that did not have car play / auto as standard.

I’ll have to check on the firmware, it certainly didn’t allow car play but did android auto as I use that with a burner phone.

To replace your head unit, you need help from your dealer. The head unit is coded to the car, so won’t work unless it’s recoded via an official connected Clip diagnostic tool.
