On two or three separate occasions over the past few months (could have been more) when starting the car a message has appeared on the RLink screen during start up saying "Please activate your Mass Storage Option". It only appears for about what appears to be half a millisecond and then disappears and doesn't return. After going through the menues and not finding anything remotely to do with storage I can only summise that it is something I can buy from the store. I cannot imagine for the life of me why I would need something like extended storage, if indeed that is what it is about, but I'd still like to know for peace of mind. Any help appreciated. Thanks you.

can i ask , do you have a usb stick attached for music and movies, why i as is mine did that ages ago and i swapped it to the other usb port and thats the last i have seen it. 

Funny you should say that Shedder, my usb with music is virtually tack welded in USB Port 2, I never take it out! I will change over to number 1 and see if that stops these notifications. It still doesn't explain what causes these 'subliminal' messages. Oh well, I've ignored them until now so I'll just carry on, it can't be important, the car still drives!
