I wish the bluetooth on my phone would switch off automatically when I leave the car

In what condition? As a drviver when you switch off engine? No problem, as soon you will open drivers door, R-Link will turn off and BT will disconect.
In all other cases when devices are on it is impossible... devices are connected as long they are in radio (cca 10m). How your phone or R-Link should know that you leave car? You must tell them... as you told devices to connect automaticaly as soon are in radio. 
Your wish is unreal.
