Hi Gents  On the dashboard display at the two' clock position on the right side not sure why but I have a small symbol now with a white circle with and arrow in it and what looks like the car in plan view, the arrow rotates as you drive is this a compass direction ?
if so where do you delete it

yes is the compass direction.

assuming your model is the same as mine to remove the symbol you need to push the button which looks like 3 squares on top of each other on the right side of the steering wheel. 
On mine it gives the compass option, a digital speedo,the radio channel and a blank screen

I'm not sure it's a compass. It's a direction for your navigation that you have set. If there is none at, it has a line or cross through it.
