Used this trick to release the electronic hand brake while changing the rear pads ... Turn on ignition hold down the hand brake forward and the light goes out with the door open and the hand brake does not rest... The guy at the local garage that changed the pads said that in the past some of these fix’s on the net don’t work but in this case it does..
