Hi,

The Start/Stop function on my 2016 Kadjar has stopped working.  A "Check Stop & Start"  message appears and the switch that switches it on/off has no effect (the led on the switch is always lit).
I had the cam belt replaced a couple of months ago and I think this in when the problem started (not 100% sure).

Any suggestions/tips.
TIA

Most likely you need a new battery. They usually last 3-4 years.

Thanks.  Is there a test I can do to confirm its the battery - there are no obvious signs that the battery needs replacing.
Thanks

My start/stop began engaging really seldom at some point. Went to my local dealer, he charged the battery a bit and said it's perfect. 2 months later, just before a 1300Km trip the battery died and the car was completely dead after all the lights started blinking on the dashboard, showing all kinds of errors. The magnetic clutch of the aircon was dead due to the current fluctuations. And all this because I thought it was going to live through the summer. Well, it didn't. The car was left for 2 months in the dealer's garage, waiting for a spare part. Just because I thought my battery was OK. 2 months riding my boss' Dacia.
These batteries usually last no longer than two or four years. If yours lasted 6, it deserves praise. Just replace it and spare yourself a lot of troubles.

Thanks. Is there anything special I need to do when I replace the battery?  I read on Halfords website that "In most vehicles Halfords Start/Stop batteries will require the battery to be registered with the on-board computer system". Is this the case with the Kadjar EFB battery ?

No. It's just a "plug and play" kind of battery :)
