Hi All. I've recently bought a '69 plate 1.3 Tce140 EDC Kadjar, with 19K on the clock. I've noticed that when pulling away when the engine's cold, forward and reverse, there is a ticking sound, like tappets, coming from the engine area. It only does it when it's in gear. Revving in neutral – there's no ticking. This ticking isn't so noticeable once the engine has warmed up, although the engine still seems quite noisy, almost raucous, when pulling away through the gears. You can hear the ticking better when the car is parked along side a fence or wall, and the driver's window is down (as in my drive), because the sound bounces of the solid surfaces.I've read where it could be to do with the wrong oil in the engine? noisy injectors? but I don't know.It would be great if anyone has any suggestions, or a similar experience with this noise? Thanks
