You are only checking for 5.5v engine off, Have you checked with the engine running?

The tailgate cables go to a multi way plug and socket under the n/s front passenger footwell kick panel. The rear loom to the dash loom connector. They do change colour here, or are connected to different colour wires that terminate at the Rlink2.

Hi Daren, I tried every possible way I could think of, Engine on and off, In reverse / not in reverse. Just electrics on. Boot open/Closed. Nothing gave a reading on that plug. That's what threw me and I came on here too see if I was missing something.

Sounds silly but what are you using to measure voltage?
The pins and wires in the plugs are very well insulated. I placed pins in the slots but you have to make sure you have a good connection and are not shorting the two

My tester has some very fine needle ends, which I can get in the rear of the plug, but also put pins in the slot like you've mentioned just to make sure there was a contact.
