Can any of you helpful folk tell me if the car should do this. Ive never owned a car with start stop before so Im not sure.

When I stop on a hill/incline the the engine goes to standby, the parking brake comes on and then the engine needs to be restarted with the start button. teh start stop seems to work ok on the flat i.e. i press the clutch and it comes back to life.

The Start/Stop should work exactly the same on an incline as it already does on the flat.

Thats not normal needing to start with the button.

I suspect what is happening here is you are lifting you bum of the seat, or reducing pressure or moving around and disengaging the sensor in the seat.
When the start stop cuts in, the car is looking for you still sat in the seat, if you get out of the car, ie lift your bum up the car thinks there’s no driver there so won’t start up of it’s own accord, which it would do if it was left long enough.

it went in the garage and they replaced the battery, that didnt work, it went back and they adjusted the clutch which seems to have resolved it, i hardly drive it due to lock down so its hard to say.
