Hello! I have a question about gear knob and leather cover removal from my recently acquired Renault Kadjar 1.6 Bose 4WD.
I am not very mechanically inclined person (plus English is not my first language) so please go easy on me.
I tried to remove the leather cover and replace it with a new one but this task was a real nightmare.
I found a youtube video that showed how to remove the gear knob and that part was easy.
But then I could not pull the leather out of this thing, although I have pushed out the plastic rectangle.
It seems like there is another internal plastic rectangle that I cannot remove from the box.
I will let the photos do the talking as they are very self explanatory.
What am I missing here? I would greatly appreciate any help as this was very time and nerve consuming ordeal.

  

I've removed the plastics around it and found it's all on clips. It's an easy 5 minutes job involving only unscrewing 2 bolts and all else is on clips. Check the videos below. (Mine is replaced twice under guarantee and is now due for a third change. The car is used mainly on long runs and is currently at 110K km)

Well, I must admit that this was scary at times, when clips were popping out, but it worked just fine at the end.
