Kadjar 1.3/160hp (2019)
Issues:
1. SatNav does not start navigating. SatNav maps do not refresh. "No map coverage for this location"
2. Clock does not automatically update/adjust. Manual updating the clock does not give expected results, the clock runs too slow/off time.
Diagnostics and observations:
1. The GPS Status screen shows no GPS signals (see picture)
2. When a destination is programmed in the SatNav, the map is not updated (frozen), BUT when an alternative route is calculated (e.g. because of traffic jam), the display shows the text of the new/alternative route, explaining the time saved (but map is not updated).
3. When a destination is programmed, the map is frozen and the "progress" symbol continues to "circle" without any changes to the screen data
4. Reset R-Link system to Factory defaults -> no change/no improvement
5. OBD2 does not show any errors
6. Setting the time automatically fails. Setting the time manually gives unpredicted results, clock running too slow
7. Android Auto + smartphone does work correctly (of course GPS from phone, and no car clock sync)
Preliminary conclusions:
- The R-Link system communicates correctly with the back-end (the selected destination is uploaded, and an alternative route, e.g. in case of a traffic jam, is downloaded)
- Due to a lack of GPS signal the:
- Clock does not update automatically + the clock does not run on time (not even when the time is manually set)
- The SatNav can not locate the car due to a lack of GPS signals, and therefor does not update the map, and does not start navigating
Question:
- Is the GPS sensor/antenna/receiver broken?
- If yes, what component could be the most probable cause?
- What would it take to fix this?
Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Beau.
