Hi All.I have recently bought a 2019 (69 plate) Renault Kadjar S. Edition, with R-Link 2 multimedia. Still getting to grips with everything!I have created a My Renault account and registered my vehicle on it. When I log into the R-Link Store via my account, and go to 'My Services' tab, then 'My Apps & Services' tab under 'Manage my R-LINK'. It tells me that most of the following items are inactive, probably because the initial 36 month period since new, has expired...... 'Car Connect Connectivity - Pack – Inactive – 360 months - End 4/21/23'. (I don't know if 360 months is correct?)'Digital Services – Pack – Inactive – 36 months – End 11/25/22'.'Map Update Service: Europe – MUS – Inactive – 36 months – End 11/25/22'.'TomTom Traffic – Pack – Inactive – 36 months – End 11/25/22'.'Map of Europe V2020.12 (Release Store 2021.Q4) – Content – Active – Bought on 3/6/22'. How important is it that these inactive items are re-activated? I would definitely like the TomTom Traffic. I can't see anywhere how to re-activate these. Can someone please explain how to do this, and what the process is. Is there a tutorial somewhere?Incidentally, after I bought the car, in the 'My Updates' tab, there were some other items I did manage to update, including a map update, with no problems. There's nothing else showing in 'My Updates' at the moment. Please let me know if you need anymore info.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am watching as I am also in this situation with my 2016.  The connect button (pic of car) on top left is NEVER connected.  The data agreement has been set to yes.  Absolute pain.  Went into a Renault garage and they said they dont touch the RLink.  Wouldnt even look at it.  I believe there is a SIM card in it somewhere, which is obviously inactive and needs activated.
RLink store and everything else greyed out.  Sat Nav maps are ancient and badly need updated but the system is also needing an update according to the Download manager thing on the PC. When you go to get it, you have to click a button on renault.co.uk to read a how to guide that says it will take 10 minutes, but the button does nothing,  The update is below it, but is grey as it looks like you have to read the guide to get the RLink update, but as I said the blue button to read the guide does nothing......

HELP!

Kind of in the same boat.  Fobbed off by local Renault garage who have apparently washed their hands of R-Link systems.  I dont even ever get the connect button.  I believe there is a SIM card in the system somewhere that they (Renault) need to reactivate).  Done all the registration and the software recognises the USB after it has been in the car.  The renault site with the R-Link update has a button to read the install guide I guess before it allows you to download the update, but the button does nothing no matter what browser or what device you use.
Shoddy from Renault.  Anybody any ideas?

EDITED TO ADD

Spoke to a lady on the phone that deals with R-Link at Renault.  Apparently the subscription needs to be kept up.  If it goes 3 years without subscription, the SIM card is deactivated, and cannot be reactivated.  The only way to get by that?  Yup, pay Renault £600 for a whole new head unit........

Love the car, cannot be doing with the manufacturers 'customer service'.

Hi I was recently in same situation with maps and tom tom traffic subscription expiring. However found impossible to renew in car, on web site - contacted Renault and their R-Link specific people . they explained that the R-Link Store has been down and they kindly renewed my subscription for another year free of  charge. (that's a first!)  the updates were automatic and confirmed over the next few days on the notifications in car.   Hope this helps - copy of email with contact details  below

Dear Mike,

Thank you for contacting Renault Multimedia and Connected Services. My name is Ana and I will be assisting you following your contact yesterday regarding the warning messages on the R-Link 2 system notifying on the end of the subscriptions.

I analysed your vehicle information on our system and verified that the TomTom Live & Connectivity subscription and the Map Update Service will end soon.
Since the UK R-Link store is under maintenance, purchases are currently unavailable. For this reason I am happy to have requested a one year extension for both services, free of charge. These subscriptions will be active until the 27/09/2024.

Since this situation is resolved, I will then be closing this case within the next hours.Your feedback is important to Renault, therefore you may receive a customer satisfaction survey with regards to the service I provided.Should you ever require our assistance again, please do not hesitate to contact Renault Multimedia and Navigation team by e-mailing us or calling on the number below.I also take this opportunity to wish you a nice day.

Sincerely,

Ana

Hi Mike,
Thanks for sending that info. Sounds promising. How old is your car? Had your subscription already run out when you bought your car, like me? It's about a year ago when mine ran out. How did you contact Renault? Did you ring them, or message them through the website somehow?
Thanks
Brian

Subscription expired recently during my ownership of car which is just over 3 years old and therefore still in extended 5 year warranty. I initially contacted Renault via ‘my Renault’ app online and started an online chat that put me through to a human being vs robot! They managed to lose my connection when transferring me to the multi-media specialist team but obviously shared the chat text. The mult-media team then sent me the email (copy in original thread) and they renewed my subscription automatically. No need to go through the complex process of using memory sticks and syncing with the cars system! I’ve had 2 Kadjar and has a lot of experience with map updates etc. it’s very clumsy system. It’s not unusual for the rlink2 store to be down or unavailable causing you to go into endless loops and frustration. All of the contact details you need to contact them by phone or email is the the attached email.
