For those of you who have updated their iPhones to IOS12.0.
I noticed that I was not getting any notification for my SMS when in the car. The solution is to go to “Settings, Bluetooth, my devices and put “Show Notifications “ back to on. The recent update has this set by default to off.

Thanks, I have also updated to iOS12 but it doesn't solve my current silent phone issue when links to Rlink. May I know when your iPhone links to Rlink and when any messages come in, does your phone sound any notification?

Is it possible, that you've lowered the sound volume? On Android phones and Android Auto, all the sounds and warnings are transmitted to the car sound system and the phone itself is silent.

thanks for your prompt assistance, could you advice which sound setting in particular is for phone notification? I remember I checked all......... my phone has been silent for months after Rlink update. Renault dealer/after service was hopeless, they still couldn't figure out after two car services.....

Not sure exactly, but fastest way is to reset the R-Link, if you ain't got nothing to loose. Or first check if there is a RESET option in Sound Settings.
