Probably just me being a little techno stupid or just plain blind but how do you switch on reply notifications on this site??

PS if this involves facebook/twitter accounts it's a no-no for me.

what are you trying to do

if its what i think you get email notification of a reply to your or someones topic use the subscribe button to get notifications 

Sorted, I had cleaned out my email inbox and somehow all email addresses that were deleted were seen as spam from then on. It wasn't just this site.

Also, and possibly need to retitle my thread to "how to manage this site for techno delinquents"

I am now getting chat "things" in the bottom LR corner, WTF????.

PS just returned after an absence from all Kadjar forums and my age is obviously telling so give me some slack.

And how do I turn email notifications off? I don't want these notifications in email.

Be Logged in
1). Go to top of Forum area itself and on the right you will see Preferences, Click on that.

2). Go to Forum Settings Tab in next page.

3). Change 'Select Subscription as Default' to No.

4). SAVE


I think that shuts off any future subscriptions to Posts in topics in the future.

To shut off current subscriptions, Go to the bottom of the Topic you are being notified about on the left you will see

Reply Topic (In Black)
Subscribe or Unsubscribe (In Blue)
Favorite

If you see Subscribe you haven't obviously subscribed to that topic but have the option to do so by clicking that button.
If you see Unsubscribe you have subscribed to the Topic when you made the post but you can unsubscribe by clicking on that button.

Once you have made the adjustments at the start in Preferences, any future post you make that you want to be notified of subsequent posts you must check the box Subscribe before you Submit the Post.

I think that is what you are meant to do, works for me anyway
