I have a 65 plate Auto with 17K on the clock. My brakes make a snapping noise when applied at low speed predominately when setting off or braking whilst reversing. Took it into Arnold Clark they declared that it was the pads moving in the calipers and that I should change them and this will resolve.

Got a mechanic friend to replace front discs and pads with genuine Renault/Nissan parts.

Still making the noise and brakes wine now as well when braking at higher speeds.

My wife has a 66 plate Manual and hers brakes are spot on.

Anyone help ?
