If you have walk away locking it’ll lock anyway.

If not when the tailgate closes there’s a motor on the latch which winds the latch in when the catch engages to pull it shut.

I used this to energise a standard relay. The relay contacts in turn trigger the lock button on the tailgate. The wires are on the other side of the switch, the small button next to the larger open and close.
Having this in mind the remote has to be in range for it to activate the lock which isn’t a problem, a little compromise but perfectly workable, had it on for nearly 3 years now.

I don't have the walk-away function so I have to wait for gate to close and then lock the vehicle.

No mine hasn’t that’s why I used a relay, to activate it.
At least if I have my hands full I just kick it,
It closes and locks while I’m near the car

Installing auto boot kit TL105. Having a problem with the electronics. The instructions say I have to connect to a yellow cable always on. Also have to connect bus box connector to can wire plug. Have taken glove box out and cover behind it. No obvious sign of cable or can plug. The manual that came with the kit is not great and is for left steering wheel. I am hoping somebody can help, possibly with better instructions. I will add pics.
