Hi had my battery tested at local garage and looks like I’m close to renewing on my 2016 Kadjar, just wondering is it possible to do this myself or does it have to be registered to the vehicle seen conflicting info on this,my supplier seems to think it’s not necessary but don’t want to start it myself and find I run into trouble down the road
Thanks in advance for any info

If your Kadjar has stop /start, it will require an AGM battery. These are normally managed by a control module. The control module normally requires telling if a new battery has been installed, to maximise the battery and it’s lifespan.
If it doesn’t have stop/start, a normal lead acid battery may be suitable, which will be fine self installing. Just ensure you have the code for the radio first.
Always disconnect the negative terminal first, and reconnect last.

Alternatively, Halfords will fit it for you, and take all the worry out of play

I'm not sure if it's AGM or EFB battery.

What was the fault, why did you have it tested, What did they test it with and who tested it?
Electronic testers are hit and miss on agm.

If you need to replace it, just any motor factors with a compatible make of battery, They will have or get you the right one as it’s a common size. And yes it’s ok for you to fit it and they are not coded to the car or anything like that.

Exactly... on mine Kadjar (2016) battery died in February... just bougt a new AGM and replace it at home since car stuck in garage. No aditional procedures needed after replacmet. S&S starts to work back after a 15 minute ride on motorway...
