You might get 47mpg--if you coast downhill at 55 mph with a following wind! Otherwise, be prepared for about 30-35mpg.
Like the claims for all cars, take it with a large dose of salt.

Hi. I get 43/45 with the 1.6 dci 4WD. That is not driving carefully either. I am happy with that. I find all petrol engines very thirsty. Other car XKR about 19mpg and mini cooper S about 30mpg.

That's true for the petrol. Mine is 2WD 1,6 diesel. When driving at 60 mph with the wife and the kids - 60 mpg and better. When on the highway 80 mph - 52 mpg. When fully loaded with a roofbox, full trunk and two bikes on a stand, 80mph - 42 mpg. All values checked many times on 1300 km journeys, .

Those figures support my view on the 1.5 V 1.6 dci.  At 80mph with a 1.6 over 50 should be expected, the qashqai did about the same as yours with the same engine. The 1.5 however uses much more fuel at those speeds, nearer 45mpg. I do still regret changing down an engine size even tho the 1.5 is a very smooth engine compared to the 1.6, the overall fuel consumption is probably slightly worse and you really have to work for economy..

As my previous Scenic was 1.5, I could say, it is more economical in speeds bellow 75 mph, and too thirsty when over 80. The 1.6 uses more fuel in lower speeds, but is much better on the highway. 1.5 is a really good engine. Smooth and reliable. 1.6 is just a little bit noisier.
