Hi, I'm having an issue with the alarm on my car. When I shot the door and walk away it should beep and alarm itself and lock? The hire one I have at the moment is doing this, however, mine isn't. I have to physically lock it via the button on the handle or using the key fob. Any ideas how I can sort this out. My Megane i had a few years ago locked this way so I'm assuming they all do. I have even watched a video on YouTube and that says after you turn off the engine and walk away the car resets itself basically to allow this function to work.

Yours is an early Kadjar like mine 2016 Bose so does not have auto locking, that did not gone out until late 2016-17 reg

Yes Roxy is correct, I have a 2019 Kadjar Dynamic, I just stop the engine & click parking brake, get out. and walk away, after distance about 8' car then bleeps twice and lights flash, mirrors fold and car locks.

In reverse with key fob in my pocket I just walk up to car and press small front door button by the handle and your in.

I do the same as you tynesider, apart from setting the parking brake. When you switch the engine off the parking brake automatically sets itself. A message comes up on the dashboard to that effect.

My 2016 Kadjar doesn't have proximity lock/unlock and if it did I would turn it off, as I have for the hands free lock/unlock using the button on the door handle. Two colleagues at work have had things stolen out of their cars, fortunately not the cars themselves, by some oiks using relay boosting to gain access.

Ah we learn something every day about Kadjar's as never noticed that the brake goes on when you switch the engine off.
