morning all.
So I sold my trusty 64 plate Renault Clio a month ago. It was a great car which I loved but it is time to grow up now the family is growing...
Looking at a Kadjar..., I've read that the keyless entry (where u press the button on handle to unlock and it locks when u walk away) was introduced quite late? Does anyone know whether this is a standard feature on the Kadjar or if if was standard from a certain point in time?

Hi there, it came in with cars built late 2016 (i.e. 66 Reg, but not all so don't buy blind). Mine's a 17 Reg and has it. Worth getting.

I'm still a bit confused about this. Mine is a 66 reg and has the keyless entry and locking using the buttons on the key card. It also opens or locks when I press the button on the handle, but the auto lock when walking away doesn't work. If I look in the User Settings on R-link there's no option to enable or disable it.

I can live with just locking or unlocking using the buttons on the key card but the auto lock would have been nice. I wondered if it was also the model, not just the reg, that matters as the video review on Carwow for the Kadjar features a 66 reg Dynamique S Nav and Mat Watson demonstrates it working clearly.

Good point Matt. It could be a spec thing. Mine is also Dynamique S Nav but I don't know if lower specs have it also. Cars built around late October, early November should have it. Someone on here will know I'm sure.

My 66 reg is actually January 2017, so it really should have it. If everything else works, what's stopping the auto lock if it already can detect if I have the key card on me?

The official video talks about a "hands free mode" and a "manual mode", implying the former is the one that triggers the auto lock. I think that has something to do with it, as once you press a button on the key card it will move into manual mode and hands free won't work. But I tried it directly after stopping the engine and the auto lock still doesn't work.

There's definitely something wrong or faulty here. Try a long press On/Off button on the RLink for reset or disconnecting battery for 10 minutes.
