So far, after driving my lovely car for a couple of months, I'm absolutely loving it. However, I needed to use the car horn yesterday for the first time (an ignorant van drivre was blocking the road) and just had to laugh out loud at the ridiculous sound. Does anyone else think the horn sounds comically weak?

Yep, it's farcical, but in my case the first time I tried to use it I got a big fat O, no sound at all. 3 weeks old, (the first time I tried it and the horn had failed/never worked). Only real fault in the 2 years since.

It's common to most new run of the mill cars today. Not too big a deal to change to 2 tones tho', had to do it on the Megane

But did anyone notice???  Ok is Ok, but it's a joke. and that isn't "ok" Part of the issue is that it is tucked away behind all the front bodywork so is muffled, other point is it provides min legal requirement, nothing more

I agree its a muffled tone - has anyone replaced it with an item type ( link to)  they can recommend on here? Or any other car they have replaced if we think its a one for one swap with no drilling ?

I replaced the one on my Megane estate some years ago, but sorry, can't recall what make. It was a 2 tone, ie 2 horns, but very compact and fitted in the very limited space behind the Megane grill on the same mounting hole. The Kadjar has more space. My Kadjar horn had failed the 1st time I tried it, it may have never worked from new, replaced under warranty but with the same.

Be careful and check what you are buying as many will require more power and may have to be fed through a separate relay.
