Just had a towbar fitted and looks great however after reversing with trailer for more than a few seconds I get a warning saying that rear parking sensors may be faulty.
I’m assuming they have not been disactivated when 7 pin electrics connected so the sensors detect an obstruction ... the trailer, yet it never collides with anything despite reversing back towards the object and it therefore thinks the sensors are malfunctioning.
Has anyone else experienced this issue ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I do not have experience using the 7 pin, but towing cycles, I always manually de-activate, otherwise I get the same message.

Isn't there a transition from 7 to 13 pin or something like that?

Do you know what, I don't remember any issues with my car when using 13 or 7 Pin plugs. The only thing I do remember is that the Blind Spot warning automatically switches off when something is plugged in.

the socket is 13 pin and I have a 13 > 7 Pin adaptor that I plugin when using a 7 Pin plug

Yes it is. But it has only 7 pins in 13 pins layout. I have same problem with my "original" tow bar and installation. While use bike carrier I have to deactivate 360 protection, otherwise I have warning spanner lit all the time which is really irritating.
