I tried to get more information out of the receptionist but all she could tell me was that there was a problem and that they reprogrammed the computer. I was just relieved that they’d found a problem and sorted it under warranty so left it at that. You could try ringing Arnold Clark, Blackpool on 01253 408000 and asking them, I only picked it up this morning so it’ll still be fresh with them. I will add that it hasn’t sorted it completely, but there is a definite difference. I think that slight over-revving must be a trait of the unit. Hope this helps.

There was a software update to the gearbox ECU I believe to fix this problem.

The clutch of my car binds after standing overnight. When slowly driving in reverse out from the carport, the engine stalls when I try to control the speed with the brake pedal, and the engine must be restarted. This can happen once or twice, then it's like it never happened, and everything works perfectly fine with the clutches and all the gear changes!. The clutch in charge of the reverse, is the clutch for gear 2, 4 and 6, and I wonder if it is the control motor for that, or the clutch assembly itself that is at fault?

I was just told, that the clutch to my automatic gear box needs changing after less than 40 000 km (about 25 000 miles). It "squeezes" sometimes when changing gears.The car is 3 years 2 months, but luckily with an extended warranty (3+2 years). I eas promised, the warranty will cover the repair, that is expected to take one and a half day. Would be expensive without warranty, I guess... Anyone else had this?

I can't remember any members posting this kind of fault, so I think this is new.

Update - after discussions with Renault, France, the garage has decided that it's safer to change the whole gearbox. Not just the clutch. Luckily under warranty...
