After reading of all the possible problems by fitting a reversing camera to the R-Link2 and the cost I had some standard 'bleeping' reversing sensors fitted a month ago
for £140 , works great and tells me all I need to know :)

You are nearly there!
First where abouts are you?

Then take me a photo of the 6v camera, plugs and cable with the ends stripped back.

One photo of everything

Hi Guys

I've update the R-Link using the downloads from this site, and now have Android Auto working perfectly.. Massive thanks to all involved in the instructions for this.. I'm now keen to get the reversing camera up and running.. From the posts here it seems as though this "should" be fairly straight forward !! IF the wires are present, that run from the rear to the front.

My question is : if these wires aren't present, has anyone successfully run wiring to the R-Link, and if so, HOW ON EARTH DID YOU MANAGE TO CONNECT IT TO THE R-LINK ??? I've removed the fascia surrounding the r-link screen, I've removed the screen itself, (so that I can see the main body of the r-link system), and I can see that all of the wires connect in at the bottom of this unit.... What I can't work out is how to physically be able to reach the relevant plug, so that I can disconnect it from the R-Link, allowing me access to connect up the extra wires needed for the reversing camera ??

Does anyone have any advice / tips ??

Many thanks

Once the screens out and of course the surround, it is possible to get your hand in and push the clip to release the connector. I’ve got some pics from when I started to investigate the possibility, it may help you.

Mine has the cables in, but you can see the idea.

Hi Darenh

Many thanks for the reply, and the photos. I've got the screen and surround off, but the horizontal metal bar to the bottom makes accessing the plugs very difficult. See attached image, (which is yours that I've added an arrow to :) :) )..

Can you advise on the removal of the connector (you talk about pushing the clip, to release the connector)... Is it the same as disconnecting the wires to the screen surround (which has wires for the radio power button and heating controls ??? )

Thanks again
