Download and run Delete_Some_Maps.zip content on your device.
This will make you some space.
Then you can try to install maps again.
2016 White 1.6 dCi 4WD BOSE with Premium Techno Pack, Winter Pack, Panoramic glass roof & autodipp mirror and retractable towbar.
Added ambient illumination, few chrome trims,
Replaced R-Link2 V2.2 SW version 9. 0.34.611, enabled Android Auto and CarPlay (change USB slots)
Maps: Here 2022Q2

@robertp i managed to install the patch for the rlink to accept the new tomtom igo maps flawlessly from your link.
Now i am trying to upload the maps file on my car and it has been about 15min with the car ON and the display stuck ‘preparing installation’. Is this normal or is there and issue should I abort?

For version 2.2 and 3.3 even 30 mins is normal.

If device will turn off (it will after 10 mins after turn on engine) it will break update.

Thanks a lot Rob, had to switch off after 1hr 15min waiting. Last screen was showing 'Validating checksum on u...' but progress bar remained at 10% ish and had to abort unfortunately as it got dark and started raining :( 
Can I upload the 'part' files one by one maybe it takes less time? Not sure if Ican install Europe maps only on the other hand?
