However I am wondering....

From reading back on this thread, I gather that my hardware restricts me from ever having Apple CarPlay. So before I do the update I was wondering if it will actually solve the issues I’m having:

Traffic alerts don’t seem to work.
The inbuilt voice recognition is appalling and won’t recognise anything I say! I’m English with no particular accent.
I really wanted Siri eyes free to work from the voice control button on the steering wheel.

Will it be worth updating?

Somebody claimed that apple carplay can be enabled by replacing the USB ports with ones from newer generation Kadjar. I've not tried this myself as I'm on Android. But is worth searching for carplay here there even was some part number mentioned for what I remember

I had downloaded the files and folowed the instructions for upgrading from 2.2.19.300 to 3.3. Rlink2 was upgrading but after that only thing I saw was black screen. I waited more than 15 minutes but it did not restart.
Do you have any solution what can I do next?

Try to hard reset? Pushing volume button for at least 15 seconds? You will se a quick color change in spedo cluster (i.e. I have set to blue color, on reset changed quickly to red and back to blue), then depress knob.
Does upgrade procedure completed successfully?

I tried hard reset but with no result. Upgrade did not end because when the rlink2 shut down to reset during upgrade it did not come back up. I waited more than 15 minutes with engine on but all i got was black screen.

Any other idea?
